The part about certain microbial parasites causing destruction to the myelin sheath, was especially disturbing. This could result in eventual paralyisis, or parkinsons type conditions.

Also MS. I have MS and in MS the myelin sheath is affected and interupts the signal to the nerves. Getting more interesting every day that I read here.
