If you can get a prescription antiviral I'd be interested in hearing if it works. It would strengthen the case for a viral cause and potentially help a lot of people. I found this publication on eczema from the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS).
It's a little long, but pretty informative. Apparently, our skin can be more prone to bacterial/viral infection. It does address current research (and eczema is essentially an autoimmune issue). For those who despair that no research is being done on EC, know that much is being done on eczema that could benefit you as well.
