Hi Margie,
This was a big one. I'm feeling bad. I'm dreaming, but they are real short. Like, I'm reading the paper. The other one I really don't think I want to bring up.
Anyway, appreciate the opportunity to practice with yours.

Bathroom/Apartment Dream
Dreaming of a small and cramped apartment implies times ahead where you will have to work hard and persevere in order to have the lifestyle you want. Specific rooms in the house indicate a specific aspect of your psyche. In general, the basement represents the unconscious, etc. If the house is empty, then it indicates feelings of insecurity. To dream that you are in a room, represents a particular aspect of yourself or a particular relationship. Dreams about various rooms often relate to hidden areas of the conscious mind and different aspects of your personality. To dream that you are in the bathroom, relates to your instinctual urges. You may be experiencing some burdens/feelings and need to "relieve yourself". Alternatively, it may symbolize purification and self-renewal. You need to cleanse yourself, both emotionally and psychologically. To see a toilet in your dream, symbolizes a release of emotions or getting rid of something in your life that is useless. To dream that you have a bowel movement, signifies that you are successfully getting rid of your old habits/ways and thinking patterns. It is usually analogous to the release of strong emotions, such as anger.
In one respect I assume you were not born with a silver spoon in your mouth. Living on your own for the first time created some insecurity. The bathroom indicates you needed to relieve yourself of these concerns. The toilet represented the release of those emotions. Also, your subconscious may have been saying it's time to move on, and stop dwelling upon the past (purification and self-renewal). The bowel movement symbol generally indicates you were in the process of eliminating those emotions, fears, anxieties, and insecurities.
A Window is a general symbol for the need to see through something that is clouding the dreamer's life.
To see windows in your dream, signifies bright hopes, vast possibilities and insight. To dream that you are looking out the window, signifies your outlook on life, your consciousness, point of view, awareness, and intuition. You may be reflecting on a decision and seeking guidance. To see shut windows in your dream, signifies desertion and abandonment. Closed windows are also a sign of cut-off communications. To see a tinted window in your dream, represents you need for privacy and your ways of getting it. You are keeping aspects of yourself hidden or that you want to remain ambiguous. To see glass in your dream, symbolizes passivity. To dream that you are looking through glass, represents your openness and non-defensiveness. Alternatively, you may be putting up an invisible emotional barrier around yourself.
Even though there were these emotional ties, the window indicates you had a great deal of hope for the future and was optimistic about it. The window being closed may indicate that you were feeling abandoned, which may have to do with the insecurities. How was your communications with your parents at the time? Particularly your father? The glass would represent a introspective nature??? Maybe you were so overwhelmed with what was going on in your life, you were putting up emotional barriers???
To see mysterious figures in your dream, signifies great mental distress. To dream that your house is broken into, suggests that you are feeling violated. It may refer to a particular relationship or current situation in your life. Alternatively, it indicates that some unconscious material is attempting to make itself known. There are some aspects of yourself that you have denied. If the dreamer is concerned about safety, security, and financial affairs, this dream could reflect those fears. Whether the fear—that someone in some way is going to rip you off—is real or not depends on the circumstances and other symbols in the dream. If the dreamer is looking for love, this could represent a warning: The dreamer could meet and fall for someone fascinating, but who has an agenda of his or her own and could end up breaking the dreamer’s heart. To dream that you have been robbed, denotes that you are experiencing an identity crisis or you are suffering some sort of loss in your life. Alternatively, you may feel that someone has stolen your success or has taken credit for something you did. Fear needs to be considered in view of the dreamer’s situation at the time. If your life circumstances are calm and pleasant at the moment, dreaming that you are afraid of something is a warning of trouble ahead. Other symbols in the dream, and circumstances in your life, can explain to you exactly what the trouble will be and how to resolve it. If you’re presently involved in some tense situations and you dream of being afraid, people whom you consider to be friends may turn out to be less than that.
The mysterious figure indicates the insecurities, fears, etc were very severe, and that you were feeling violated. This ties back into the previous two sections. The sense of fear also highlights that.
To see or hear a telephone in your dream, signifies a message from your unconscious or some sort of telepathic communication. You may be forced to confront issues, which you have tried to avoid. If the dreamer is making a phone call, she wants to tell someone something but is holding back out of fear.
The phone seems to indicate a need to confront these situations. Even though you may have wanted to avoid them, your subconscious may have been saying you needed to in order to get beyond where you were. It sounds like you may have been holding back from doing that out of fear of some situation.
To see a bolt (Lock) in your dream, suggests that you are protecting yourself from difficult emotions and experiences. The dream may also be a pun on your tendency or desire to flee from a situation. Another interpretation is it signifies your inability to get what you want or being kept out. Perhaps an aspect of you is locked up inside and needs to be expressed. To dream that you are locked out, suggests that you are feeling alienated or unaccepted. You have difficulties getting in touch with your feelings. Consider what and where you are being locked out of. To dream that you are entering through a door, signifies new opportunities that will be presented before you. You are entering into a new stage in your life and moving from one level of consciousness to another. In particular, a door that opens to the outside, signifies your need to be more accessible to others. To see opened doors in your dream, symbolizes your receptiveness and willingness to accept new ideas/concepts. If you are inside the locked door, then it represents harsh lessons that need to be learned. To dream that you are locking doors, suggests that you are closing yourself off from others. You are hesitant in letting others in and revealing your feelings. It is indicative of some fear and low self-worth. Back Door: Using the back door means there will be many changes in your life for the better. If you dreamed that someone was trying to break in your back door, look for a windfall in money matters.
o see a bolt (Again, it appears at that time in your life, you seem to have been experiencing some very severe issues. On the other hand it appears you were open to new venues, but needed to be more open to others. So on one hand, you were putting up emotional barriers, but your subconscious was saying you needed to do the opposite to move on. You were trying to lock yourself out from others, but your subconscious was pushing the door open. To me the Back door was very significant.
To dream of the direction left, symbolizes the unconscious and your repressed thoughts/emotions. It is an indication of passivity. To dream of your hands, represents your relationship to those around you and how you connect with the world. Hands serve as a form of communication. Perhaps you need to lend out a helping hand to someone. In particular, the left hand symbolizes your graciousness and feminine, receptive qualities. To dream that you are pushing something, symbolizes energy, effort, encouragement and a new drive to succeed in life. Consider also how you are someone in your life may be a "pushover".
The left hand symbolizes your graciousness and feminine, receptive qualities. That sounds like you. Pushing with it probably indicates symbolizes your energy, effort, encouragement and a new drive to succeed in life as a woman????
To dream that you are walking on a sidewalk, your steady progress and direction in life. You may be moving on to new walks of life. To see a tunnel(looking down the sidewalk between the houses) in your dream, represents the vagina, womb, and birth. Thus it may refer to a need for security and nurturence. To dream that you are going through a tunnel, suggests that you are exploring aspects of your unconscious. You are opening yourself to a brand new awareness. Alternatively, it indicates your limited perspective. To see the light at the end of a tunnel, symbolizes hope.
I almost get the impression you had a plan for your life mapped out that you were following, but had a need to feel secure, but was very hopeful. I used the tunnel symbol because of your description of looking between the houses reminded me of that.
To see a neat and well-kept yard, reflects your ability to maintain and organize aspects of your outside life, such as work and your social activities. To see a messy and un-kept yard, denotes that aspects of your life are out of your control. To see others raking, denotes that you will be happy on the well being and livelihood of others. To see leaves in your dream, signifies newfound happiness and an improvement in your business affairs. In particular to see fresh green leaves, denotes that you will meet a wealthy companion who you will marry. To see brown or withered leaves in your dream, signifies fallen hopes, despair, and loss. To see your parents in your dream, symbolizes both power, shelter, and love. You may be expressing your concerns and worries about your own parents. Alternatively, it represents the merging of the female and male aspects of your character. Seeing your father is highly personalized, and should be considered in light of your relationship with your father. Generally, dreaming of a father (yours or anyone else’s) represents authority, while mothers represent love and protection. If your relationship with your father was good, dreaming of him implies advancement and/or assistance from authority figures in your life. If your relationship with him was strained, however, dreaming of him indicates trouble coming from authority figures, such as your boss. If you’re dreaming of a dead parent, especially if he or she is speaking to you, important news is coming your way. Whether the news is good or bad depends on other dynamics in the dream. To see your father in your dream, symbolizes authority and protection. It suggests that you need to be more self-reliant. Consider also your waking relationship with your father. To dream that your father is dead, forewarns that you need to proceed with caution in conducting your business.
The definitions from the various dream dictionaries sounded pretty good. I think the only thing I could do is muck it up even more than I have the rest of my interpretations.
I liked Steve's interpretation, and read your thoughts. However, whatever the situation with your parents was, I don't see them in this dream. Maybe it's a matter of over the years as you've learned things, one could reapply them to past dreams. However, what I see is someone who was young, out on their own for the first time, and was overwhelmed. Maybe you felt like you were being abandoned…. I don't know. What I do see is someone who had a great deal of hope and determination for the future. Maybe you just needed to learn to be more self reliant????
This was a good dream.
