I like your interpretation of my dream.
Your comments about being on your own etc. are quite true.
Kinda makes me think of the parable of the prodigal son,
his father welcomes him back.
Only this was not how I viewed this dream at that time.

I had managed to get out from under their roof,
yet this dream puts me back under it,
and on a subconscious level (basement)
As I saw it then, my father WAS the man at the window.

When I woke I realized that it wasn't all moms fault.
That dad too had played a part.
