Can't control thoughts? - Finding Relief
This is funny ..
One of my friends was told by another that he couldn't control his thoughts, and was asked for advice ..
His advice: "When you don't know how to control your bladder, because you've been holding in so long, what do you do? You seek relief. You run (do not walk) to the restroom and you really go!
When you don't how to control your thoughts, because you've been holding these negative emotions in for so long, what to do? You seek relief. You run (do not wait)to find an accumulation of better feeling thoughts. You deliberately work at finding better feeling thoughts from where you are.
Hint: If you know how it is to seek relief after holding in for so long, you have the biggest hint. You feel better. You feel relief.
And just like you seek relief using the restroom daily, you need to seek better feeling thoughts on a regular, daily basis. You need to practice daily, and I recommend writing your thoughts down and going up the scale from where you are, and find the feeling of relief.
It takes consistent practice, like a habit, like a regular restroom break!"
