"This is not a widespread public health concern since the person was living in a rural area in a very open house with numerous entry points for insects and no air conditioning and most people in Louisiana live in much less open homes."
This just does not seem like a very strong argument to me. True, it is a rural area; but people work and play outside. Animals migrate. Children are out more than adults; and mostly barefoot. I wonder if there has been follow-up in that area or close areas. Who knows what the hurricanes did to possibly spread this?
