Cut my dog's claw quick

I feel so bad.
Last night we were trimming our doggie's claws. He jerked and we snipped the claw too short, and into the quick. In fact, I think we cut part the quick off - maybe 2 or 3 milimeters. He bled and bled, and bled some more, but the bleeding seemed to have stopped by today. The only information I could find was that we should bandage the wound and watch for infection. Does anyone have any other information they might like to share? I'm very concerned about my doggie, and hope I didn't injure him too bad.

About the dog: 95# german shepard/rottie mix, 15months old, spoiled rotten. :) Tweet
