iodine and the thyroid gland

"Iodine is an essential ingredient in all of the thyroid hormones. T4 (thyroxine) contains four Iodine molecules(sic). T3(tiriodothyronine) contains three Iodine molecules." david brownstein, md

by weight, these molucules are mostly iodine. they are also one of the few organic(with carbon attached) molecules containing Iodine that are not toxic to the body. without iodine, these critical substances cannot exist at all. when taking synthetic or animal thyroid meds, they are mostly a supplementation of iodine.
