Getting better and better
Andy,
I know this will sound quite foolish, but I'd love to see you consider it, if you can.
Depend on your intuition...it has pulled you through this far.
If you feel you need a doctor, run, don't walk to the nearest, now!
I think it is amazing that you were able to calm the pain yourself, and so quickly...so, if you think you might be able to handle what comes next, you probably can.
I've found that I set 'decision points'..."If a certain thing happens within so many minutes, I will do........" Or, "At 6 p.m. I will decide."
You are learning what your systems can manage...a journey of exploration and discovery.
My own
Gallstones line up and come in increments I can manage...it's as though my body 'knows best'...only the steps that don't hurt beyond bearing; then a rest, while the body adjusts; then the next logical step, all by itself, with the next stone falling immediately into place behind it.
I didn't know the body could do that!
Also, day by day I am learning that it is better to focus on the healed state, rather than the ailment...as often as you can.
What we all want is to do what needs to be done, rest, take up our daily lives again, and be surprised that we have forgotten the ailment.
Every opportunity to do this, even for just a short time, strengthens us, heals.
You are not the same fellow I first read, you are stronger...and not in a foolhardy way.
You are making wise choices, and they are paying off.
One of my biggest surprises is that 'healing' is nothing like what I had expected...and it doesn't happen when I thought it would...it is not 'prompt'. Afterward, it makes greater sense than I had guessed. I feel quite proud of myself that I have gotten this far...better, with a few things left to go...all in good time.
My body is smarter than I figured.
Yours, too, I'll wager.
My best,
Fledgling
