My wife has had a Merina implant now for a few months and have experienced very similar problems. Shortly after the implant she developed an infection of the vestibular nerve which affected her balance so badly she was bed ridden for 3 weeks.
While still int he process of recovering from this she woke up one crying from pain in her knees. She was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis . She now has continous pain somewhere in her body. Sometimes in her hands, then in her feet and knees and back. She looses bundles of hair every day. Her thick bush of hair has depleted to about half of what it was before and on top of that she has had excesive hair growth starting on her lip, breasts and so on.
Mood swings, which she has never had before is now also a problem.Prior to the insertion she suffered from migraines before and during menstruation. This has now disappeared. This is the only benefit she experienced from the implant. This was in the fact the reason she had the implant as the doc suggested this as the only possible solution.
