he was born in Ukraine, yes, so if that makes him Russian/Ukrainian for you, so be it. But his ancestry was Jewish. He emigrated to Palestine as quite a young man. While he lived elsewhere during the war, he returned to Israel once the State was formed and it remained his home base for most of the rest of his life.

I don't know . . . I always heard him referred to as Israeli.
