The oceans have been rising in acidity over the years due to man's activities. I suspect that global warming has, to an extent, been buffering the rising acidity, dumping old alkaline ice stores into the seas, however it only goes so far and can buffer only to a point.
Kind of like our lymphatic, respiratory or circulatory systems... there is a finite limit, limited also by the environment.
In this article, they point a finger at CO2 (an attempt to blame a single source), but the issue is much more complex than that... including industrial and agricultural waste, etc.
Any form of meat being acidic forming in the human body is probably more a result of man's corporate farming and fish farming practices than anything else...
