Neither do many other men
But it's not only about low self esteem. Even the strongest, most independent woman has a side to her that is a nurturer and needs a safe place to be herself and feel approval. When she encounters a slick deceiver, her emotions get discombobulated and she's thrown for a loop. It may take her years to come back to herself and run away from the situation. It is then the most beautiful part of a woman's wiring that gets entangled when she runs into the wrong guy. The wiring is not what needs to change, but her ability to spot the losers from keepers right from the beginning....and I believe in s...l....o....w....beginnings!
Some women start out by being down on themselves and are easy targets, but just as many others start out fine and get messed up along the way by some stupid creep.
I have been stumped myself from time to time, but fortunately, the real *GEMS*, such as the one in my life now, understand a woman's true nature and are as overjoyed to honor and receive as to give back..... It's wonderful to not have to feel misunderstood, manipulated, abused and underappreciated (among lots of other things....)
