Re: Ulcerative Colitis for 20 yrs. cured

Hi, Jeanne!

I am type A negative and I also suffer from Colitis. Currently, I am recovering from my las flare- up, trying to gain my weight back. I am taking 8 prednisone pills daily, but unlike most of the other patients I don't gain weight. My symptoms are gone for now, but I am not sure if this is only because of the medication.
I follow the SCH Diet of Ellaine Gotschall, but I recently found the book "Eat right for your type". My question to you is did you avoid eating bread and other flour products when you got cured from UC. If I am the "Agrarian" type, it means I can eat those, at least in moderate quantities. However, the book of Gotschall prohibits eating them. Since, bread and similar products are among my favourites, it will be perfect if I can reintroduce them in my diet. I will certainly appreciate if you share some additional facts about your diet and recovery.

Thank you!
