Don’t know if this will help any of you are not. Just to share:I’ve had peeling lips for as long as I can remember. It’s so normal for me I don’t worry about it, just let them dry out, crack, and peel….Ok to be truthful I do worry about it when the current “love of my life” starts putting chap stick on me or I have something I want to look extra special for and realize that everything is great except for…you guessed it my dry, cracking lips.
I’m really on this site interested in the cleanses but it turns out one of the things that worked for me is a part of that. Everyone here may already know about this and I doubt it would cure all causes for cracked lips but This worked for me: I know it sounds grouse but I take 2 TBL spoons of virgin coconut oil a day. I mix it in my health shake and drink it down. Others find they like the taste and eat it from the spoon, it’s the texture that I don’t like. It is supposed to have a lot of great benefits but one thing I noticed after doing this for a couple of weeks is that my lips were soft and moist. I also use it as a moisturizer on my face and lips before going to bed. I think that as I heal using it internally I won't need to do this any more but that's a guess... I haven't gotten there yet.
Never thought I’d eat OIL but I really like the idea of moisturizing from the inside out…it make so much more since to me than trying to moisturize each individual area of my body. I’ve been off of it a week now, part of the regiment I’m doing…take a holiday one week out of the month…and now at the last of the week my lips are dry & cracking again. I guess I should include that I do live in a humid area, I’m sure that effects my body’s overall moisture level. Water being my favorite drink I’ve never had a problem with dehydration. The other thing I feel like I should disclose is that I’m sure the detoxing is also helping this because before this my feet had some major calluses (part of the joy of ballroom dancing) and were very dry, now the calluses are slowly peeling off and my feet aren‘t dry at all. I only started all of this a month ago but I’m getting some nice fringe benefits.
