Sounds to me like there are people who will scar themselves for life in order to get a prescription for pain pills, and doctors who will accomodate them. I found that extra strength advil was sufficient for me. As far as the bone being exposed... I'm sure it probably happens. You have to be very careful with bloodroot salve. Some brands are more potent than others. Personally I think a systemic approach makes a lot more sense.
