I started oil pulling a little over three months ago so after reading this forum daily, I decided it’s about time to join in. I mainly use sesame oil but sometimes use coconut oil or sunflower oil, and may add a drop of oregano oil. I always pull first thing in the morning and sometimes do a second one while I’m preparing dinner. It’s also great for helping me to control my snacking while I’m preparing dinner. The main benefits that I can see are that my gums are healthier (no bleeding when flossing), and there is no buildup of plaque or tartar on the inside of my front teeth. I’m not sure if my teeth are getting a lot whiter but maybe it's just really subtle or just that I don't swish use coconut oil that much. I also think my teeth are less sensitive to hot and cold. My cracked heels are way better this winter, which also may be due to the fact that I have added several tablespoons of coconut oil to my daily diet. I’m going to keep up the oil pulling because I enjoy it and if it’s helping keep my gums healthy that is good enough for me, since gum problems can cause all kinds of other problems in the body. It’s probably good exercise for the facial muscles as well. Actually, I have come home and oil pulled after a stressful day at work to relax my jaw. I just want to say thanks to Molly and everybody else for sharing. Molly, I hope you are feeling better. You have some really great posts!
