Oscar is very much alive. That news item is a hoax.
From the animal communication group, someone called the nursing home and confirmed that Oscar is very much alive.
It seems that the person who wrote the news item is quite an expert in writing hoaxes.
Probably the person meant it to be a joke but from my perspective it wasn't funny.
