Firstly, for motivation, why not get a free ticker like mine? I am 18 days into a fast but will probably be still fasting during the duration of yours. You haven't stated your body mass index, but I take it yours is high which is why you are fasting? If it is just a detox you are after, then perhaps the following may not apply to you, but even so I will state it for the benefit of others...
Secondly, look at very old people. How many fat ones do you see?
Thirdly, they are only just beginning to realise from all the baby boomers that are now getting obese that the problems of poor circulation as well as the extra weight from excess fat is degenerating knee cartilage much faster than they expected from the weight loading alone. I have a friend who has damaged both hers, they won't do a knee replacement because she is too young (about my age) so she is confined to home on pain killers. She can hardly walk. In other words your knees are like car shock absorbers, and they wear out sooner than expected if you overload them, but they cannot be replaced or repaired. The worst thing is that because she cannot walk, she is putting on more weight.
I think the same probably applies to hips...
I am sure there are other good reasons for losing weight, but I have no intention of waiting to find out.
Whatever your reason, if the stress is a problem, why not do the fast on holidays? (Not recommended for all inclusive holidays )
