I had the exact same problem and it's over

I had the same problem and my dentist solved it by filing the cap down further.
Within a day of filing huge amounts of pain had diminished. He told me people have come in begging for a root canal and all that was needed was a bit more work on the tooth to get it right.

It still took awhile for the pain to completely subside but it did finally (like 2 more months for the nerve to recover)

Also try upping your calcium/mag using calcium hydroxyapatite. It's a low temp. bone meal matrix. I get mine from Drrons.com.
