Yes, it can be challenging, since you should wait
to breed. If your dog is larger it requires pads
and such, or at least that is what I endured...hee hee.

If you have the male in the house, you have to farm
out one or the other or they do become miserable
and the male will do anything to get at the female
who, when flagging, will want the male too. Its
driven by scent and since they can smell better than
we do, I imagine a male will chew down a house to
get at the female...not really but you know what I mean.

I have a good friend who breeds dogs and the females
go on vacation to the relatives or else expect to pay
vet bills if there is more than one male around as they
fight like crazy when ordinarily they are sweetie pies
and honey bunches...
