Re: How do I deal with this pattern in my life?
This person is an immature idiot. What is accomplished by making you feel bad? It's disrespectful.
My ex used to do that. Guess what? He was cheating on me perhaps the whole 10 years we were together. It's called PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE.
It's BS. Don't let this person do this.
But I agree with Mr. Mountain Dew up there...this person is not worth your time. I know, you may love them, or be addicted to them, but I'm telling you, 10 years from now (If you make it legal) you will be battling for your house and your kids. And you will be SO done with that crap.
Hey, when it comes to love there is no doubt that many are too close to the forest to see the trees. We've all been there, ESPECIALLY if you are a woman. If we all had this machine that allowed us to step back and really see our love interest...boy I would patent that thing in a minute. Easier said than done.
Here is an exercise. Pretend it's not you in the relationship. Pretend it's your best friend and this is your best friend's boyfriend/girlfriend. Visualize. What in the world would you tell your best friend to do? Well follow that advice to a tee.....
How satisfying it would be to gather your reserves, and finally tell this person to take a hike. Think of the freedom? Think of the personal satisfaction? Think of the way you will feel empowered?
Self esteem. So many of us lack it. Besides our health, this should be the holy grail. Why not have both?
Hang in there.
