do you have a plan?
I don’t know exactly why we develop the shakes, but we do. Some of us worse than others. I had this friend who was a sign painter, and his hands shook so bad he couldn’t work without a stiff shot or two. After a few, his hand became steady as a rock. I don’t know if he ever got sober or not.
I have another friend in Alcoholics Anonymous, I am a member as well, who shook for over a year after he got sober. He also suffered real DT’s towards the end of his drinking career. They are not the shakes, not even close, they are much worse. Picture the worst nightmare you ever had, now picture it wide awake, and you can’t make it stop. That stuff isn’t fun at all!
I agree, quitting is a very good idea, I recommend it. Do you have a plan Wheatgrass Yogi? Trying to quit without a plan is a bit like trying to build a bridge without one, it can be done, but the odds are against you.
