normally after a bout of heavy drinking... (80 or 100 proof alcohol) most people will suffer tremors the following day... these will usually pass... but... if one goes on a long termed bender... where one stays drunk for days on end without let up... (such as a true alcoholic is prone to do)... then the tremors/shakes can/will become more or less permanent... yet i personally know of a couple of cases that stopped shaking after a long period of sobriety... and... also have seen those that never recovered from their shakes...
