Re: FDA coming to town

Gee, they very fact that someone WANTS to regulate herbs makes it seem like they are really effective, doesn't it?

So, what if a person has them growing in their backyard?

I found a dandelion as big as a cabbage, on a steep slope, nearly under junipers. No self-respecting cat or dog would pee there. We let it flourish for a year or two, had some salads with leaves, then harvested it, root and all. We cleaned it and dehydrated it, and it sits in jars awaiting use.

Native people used to pick the whole plants in the spring and eat a little every day for a week as a 'spring tonic'...good for a kidney cleanse, I believe. I tried that one day. Boy, my urine smelled!

I really do think it will all depend on what folks do, individually.

Thanks for your time, R.G. Glad to see you got your computer companies straightened out...on top of all the other things you accomplished!

Do pecans come in a husk? I've read some of the things that must be done for commercial walnuts. We have fooled with some of ours, and decided to let the cold/rain/drying have at them, outside. The ones still on the leafless never-pruned tree seem to be popping out of their husks, all by themselves. Nice sharp winds came up and blew the leaves out of the yard onto the field that some fool plowed.

It's been eight decades since the 'dust bowl' of the dirty thirties and the 'machine-lovers' haven't 'got it' yet. Sigh!

My best,

Fledgling
