I think that he means that you should allow it to cool before you put it into a closed container (ie. put a lid on it), so that the heat can evacuate. I had it in a 1/2 gallon bottle with a wide mouth and no lid on it.

I had not read Humble's book back then ... I just got a hold of it last week ... but the stuff really does get hot, even in an open container or bowl. Tweet
