Re: fasting; water fast support forum
I know this kind've extreme and likely not possible, but here's what I did my first time long fast. (actually it was only 5 days)
I lived in Chicago at the time and drove out to the country in Wisconsin. I literally slept in my car everyday, had no human contact and went out to as remote of places I could find. I remember going out into the fields in a sort of daze hunting for berries or anything. I was sleeping constantly during the day, feeling really sorry for myself, weak and felt I was doing the hardest thing of my life. I did get through it though and have been fasting on and off for years now. It's only gotten easier.
Right now I am much older and without the youthful energy I must have had than, but I'm on my 11th day and I feel great. Today My wife and I had guests over who have two kids. We went out on a boat and swam in the ocean, played, etc. I watched everyone eat and it was no big deal. The boat got bogged and we had a big drama trying to get it out. Lots of exercise in other words.
It really does get easier if one can just get through that first time fasting. I truly believe this is because its mostly phycological, not all physical like I had thought at the time.
