Re: Betaine HCL has turned me around
Its incredible really. I just begain with 1 500mg per meal. It took about 3 days before I noticed no pain. I think because all the food previously in my body needed to come out before I could notice the improvement. Also after 5 days I missed taking it with a meal and i got a pain in my gut again. So I have made sure I have it with every meal. Its been a week now, and yesterday I decided to up my dosage to test whether it was too much and low and behold i didn't feel any burning or warmth in my stomach when taking 1000mg with a meal. I did this all yesterday, 2 capsule with every meal and only 1 if it was a juice smoothie. This indicates that my stomach acid is SO so so low. It explains why I used to get tonsilitus all the time because apparently stomach acid kills any streptococal bacteria.
I had made a list prior to this for my girlfriend, to show all the foods I could and couldn't eat that would cause me any gut pain. Its a frightening, extensive list I can tell you. Just for example, I couldn't eat bran, oats, tomato, raw garlic, bananas without them all causing me abdominal cramping pains that last for ages. Since taking betaine HCL I have felt so good I've tested to see whether I can eat these foods with the supplements and I CAN. :-)
The only problem I have with it is that there is pepsin in it and thats derived from animal origin. Im a vegetarian so im going to look to get just pure betaine hcl, and see if that works by itself.
