Question on Genital Herpes

I have just been diagnosed with genital herpes, and have been married to the same man for 12 years! I am 100% sure he is faithful, no doubts there, but I do think I may have contracted at my OB/GYN office, funny as that may sound. I had first ever symptoms 2-12 days after seeing my dr. for my last check up visit for a partial hysterectomy he had done 2 months prior. Can I be crazy, but I was a virgin when I got married, and my husband does not have the virus, could I have been given this by the doctor, his instruments (unsterile of course), etc???? I have been w/ this doctor for years, but started to have symptoms right after my last visit with him...thank you! We are devasted and totally shaken up by this.
