Re: Parasite riddle

I suspected Blasto before I even read it! The IgE testing could have been wrong in your wife. False negatives are made all the time with this test. But, there is the possibility that other factors are involved. If you both have the same symptoms, I would place my bets on the Blasto. This is a very unique protozoa, and the oocysts can be carried by macrophages to other areas of the body. I have them in the prostate, without sever symptoms.
I will make a scientific speculation, and suggest that these bugs can make use of your hormones to direct their activity. I have no proof of this, just experience.
As for the eyes, I have chronic sensitivity to light and particles in field of vision.
In my opinion the eyes can be indirectly affected by this protozoa.
If you are reacting to the invader, this is a good thing. I would do everything to remove it before it customizes to your system.
Some drugs known to work are; clindamycin, trimethoprim sulfamethoxazole, and metronidazole. There are associated risks with these and other drugs.
We are looking into a plant extract called "Brucea Javanica", although it's potency depends on high doses.
I would look for possible bacteria infecting eyes--possibly related to the protozoa. Request a swab of the eye, and several cultures. Shroom
