uh, excuse me, people.
my posts are designed to enlighten and challenge without drugs. in fact, if you are on drugs, you are not going to get much out of them.
did anybody read what i wrote? no one needs to view the video to read the quotes, which were the pertinent parts. i find the history fascinating which is why i included the video.
these kids back then realized some fundamental truths way before their time. i mean WAYYY before.
"we have to stop acting ... on an ego level and investigating what we really need as a whole being; acting... according to the needs of (each other) rather than... in terms of what you consume and what you can afford and what you own."
"not a lot of us really believed in the war because we believed we were infiltrating someone elses space and trying to tell them how to live life, you know, like we knew it all.... we THOUGHT (LSD) was a way we would find peace on earth."
"we saw a VISION of how we could change the world. we THOUGHT we were the annointed ones."
"people like timothy leary that were attracting a huge amount of attention from the united states government because they were preaching the message that people didnt have to go along with this."(NOT BECAUSE THEY WERE ADVOCATING LSD. BTW, IT WAS LEGAL WHEN HE STARTED)
"you had people who didnt necessarily care so much about the politics as just not wanting to have anything to do with it(at all). it was a mass cultural defection."
maybe these new vistas of thought would not have been possible without LSD, i dont know. but they paid the price that we might learn. my god in heaven, when are we ever going to learn?
glax is right. V is establishment. thats because he has a lot invested in it. i dont blame him. i, on the other hand, dont have a damn thing invested in it. it can hang for all i care. it is worthless - less than dung. when i became worthless to it, it shunned me. period.
if somebody handed me the keys to a new beemer, i wouldnt drive it. i would sell it and do good with that money. why do i want to spend time in a poison gas chamber? why do i want an exponentially depreciating lawn ornament? i like to think i have matured beyond that %¤#&!§-. i dont want my legacy to be ah, well, i lived in the good old days and did all i could to get my share. sorry grandchildren, i really wish you could grow food now. i really do wish the atmosphere was still protecting life on earth from the cosmic rays. i really do wish a tablespoon of pure water cost less than an hours wage. but boy, did we ever have fun!
my original conclusion was that we needed a revolution LIKE that again. that kind of vision. that kind of passion. that kind of focus and commitment. hell, people today go into treatment over the trauma of wearing mismatched socks. they cant face the mess we have made of things. they depend on the world they live in - a world that is doomed.
my hopes for this thread was
Iodine related. after posting it i went and watched a bunch of talented high schoolers from different schools around the state compete in show choirs. my son was one of them. these children dont have a clue. they also dont have anyone looking after them and giving them what they need, like iodine. it should not be up to them to get their own nutrition and upbringing, it should be up to their parents and community leaders. but they are too corrupted to do meaningful things for these kids. they do feel good things so they can go on persuing what they think they should have. they pass on their evil ways of thinking and living to their progeny not realizing the trap they are all in. i shudder to think what they will inherit in the not too distant future. i shudder to think that this message is falling on deaf ears as i speak. if not here, then where?
