Re: EXPERTS HELP!!! Low Doses Vs High Doses, Permanently ruining the thryoid hormones?
I'm not an expert that's for sure, but I'm in the same boat as you with the learning curve of taking Iodine, doses, companion supplements, salt loads, salt flushes, etc. I'm just ahead of you by several months, but you could easily shoot ahead depending on lots of factors.
So, to help answer in layman terms some of what you are asking, the
Iodine you have is good to take internally, many people here take it. I may take that tablet form in the future. I take
Lugol's 5% liquid, and it's also marked on it's label, for use as a talisman only. Here's a link to the information about taking
Iodine internaly, I just read it myself and found it funny that intuitively I get very hungry about 20 minutes after taking my
Iodine and I have to eat, and the article states that eating 20 minutes after taking it was usual practice.

As for the high dosing, don't do it for now, take the lower doses and see how you do as you learn to incorporate the companion supplements and use the salt flushes. I don't know about being dependent on it, I was told I'd be on thyroid meds for my whole life but I'm off, yes..I'm on Iodine, but it's a more complete form of supplementation and I don't think I'll be on it for my whole life. If I am, maybe a low maintenance dose eventually. I'm not worried about it, I feel too good which I never did feel this great on the thyroid meds.
I think many people here have told of their detox events at higher doses. Many people here have done a lot of cleanses, improved diet with whole foods, and other things first or along with the Iodine, and maybe some have less detoxing because of that. I know I don't go into heavy detoxing, because of my prior health changes for the better.
Read a lot, research, ask your question, and be prepared to learn even more as you take the Iodine. That's what I'm doing.
