EXPERTS HELP!!! Low Doses Vs High Doses, Permanently ruining the thyroid hormones?
Hi all,
I need help from the experts or those more experienced with
Iodine supplementaion. I am new a this and confused about a few things. Please explain (hopefully) scientifically...
1) I am concerned about the long term damage from high doses (>50mg/day). I read in a book about
Iodine I got at that
Breast Cancer site (free when I bought Iodoral) that you have to monitor your thyroid hormones because it may be harmful if you high dose too long.

2) I also read somewhere in this forum that people have the experience of accelerated balding or of their symptoms coming back as soon as they get off the iodine, which could indicate some kind of dependency on the high dosing. (I've read all the success you've all had regarding high doses, but what about the long-term impact on your health?)
3) Also I want to know what physiologically happens to your body when you have low doses (like 1 drop) and all of a sudden you have de-tox reaction. Why doesn't it do this at a higher dose?
Because of this, I am wondering if the high doses would eventually harm you. It seems like "everything in moderation" make more sense?
I know these are all separate questions. Perhaps one of you: Trapper, Vulcanel, or Wombat could explain these things to me.
Otherwise, anyone else who has some
Iodine experience stopping for awhile, were there withrawl/new/intensified symptoms?
Thanks,
Pixie
