Re: A blade of grass and timelessness

Rudy, to know that in your NDE that gems embedded in a pillar were worthy of contemplation helps me to feel less strange, less unconnected. In the simplest things, viewed closely, so often I am breathless, awed, by beauty, by otherness, by
an intrinsic worth and mystery. Everyone I know cares about soccer teams and football teams and such things; these are not bad because they help people to escape themselves. But because I sense that a single blade of grass, even in its browness on a late autumn hillside, when carefully, contemplatively viewed, carries all I ever could bear to know--knowing that a blade of dying grass speaks to me more than a football game, I am necessarily alone. But because you, in an NDE, noticed a gem, I thrill, soar to imagine what it carried in itself unfettered by this place. Keep talking. Keep validating those of us who live on the edge and sense that our fleeting seconds of understanding when we see grasses and gems have value. Yes, yes, yes.
We are not mad. Those of us who briefly see heaven in earth--gems and grasses in all their radiance--need your confirmation.
