Re: Day 12
Hi again, just to clarify my position on the use of cleansing enemas, when I was advocating the use of a daily enema it was during a fast. I doubt if you will find many experienced fasters or natural holistic alternative healthcare providers who would argue against that.
The use of enemas as an essential part of fasting is not just some current fad, rather it goes back centuries, and even millennia. The Greek physicians Hippocrates in the 5th century BC, and Galen in the 2nd century AD are among the most well known early advocates of the enema for cleansing and maintaining good health.
Apart from fasting, enemas have many beneficial uses, but like any good thing they can be abused if used indiscriminately. For the vast majority of people, an occasional enema is a healthy practice. Daily enemas for routine bowel regularity are to be avoided if natural regular bowel movements are possible by other means such as healthy eating, physical exercise, adequate sleep, lack of stress etc.
But when all other alternatives fail, as I posted previously, far better the enema habit than the constipation habit.
