Re: What is love?
those who know... say not...
those who say... know not...
from my own experience... all i can say is that it is the best/highest/exhilarating of all the emotions... other than that it is beyond description... (but i promise you will know when it happens to you)...
i would wish that everyone could find love... but truth is... many live their whole lives never having known love... (at least not to it's fullest)... i think perhaps the better question to ask is "what am i"... once one embarks on the quest to find out one may be very surprised/mystified/enlightened at one finds... in fact one may look back to see that their life has been totally changed... 180 degrees from what it use to be... the only problem being is that few will devote/dedicate their lives to seeking the answers... and it is this that prevents most of us from ever finding out... (because we are so attached to life as we know it... our jobs... our friends... our successes... and we become prisoners... held in bondage to our own 'ego')... so as you can see... as we have quickly jumped from love to enlightenment that the question you asked get very involved... (all things are relative just as einstein theorized)...
of all the enlightened beings of the past... those who have risen the highest were the ones willing to give up the most... the story of buddha comes to mind... because he was the ruler of kingdom and turned his back on everything in order to find the answers to human suffering... he searched for seven years... endured all sorts of hardships... and finally in deep despair... when he sat beneath the budha tree... and had completely surrendered to the futility of his quest... it was at that very moment that he became overcome/empowered with enlightenment...
it is indeed a very deep subject... and i encourage you to seek more... find your own answers... for your rewards will be inversely proportional to the effort you put forth in the search... i can only tell you that what you seek to know... you already know... for the answers lie hidden within you... the truth lies within each and every one of us... we only need to seek...
knock and the door shall be opened...
seek and ye shall find...
to thine self be true...
greater is he that 'conquers himself' than he that 'conquers the world'...
mr. rogers said it best...
"it's a wonderful day in the neighborhood"...
