Re: pcos *EDIT*
I can understand your feeling overwhelmed, there's a lot of info to assimilate. Short answer, yes,
Iodine has been shown to cure PCOS. Please follow the link in this post and listen to the audio:

Also, please take time to look over the FAQ's and familiarize yourself with the whats, whys and hows of
Iodine supplementation...

“Iodine deficiency may cause the ovaries to develop cysts, nodules and scar tissue. At its worse this ovarian pathology is very similar to that of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). As of the writing of this article I have five PCOS patients. The patients have successfully been brought under control with the use of 50 mg of
Iodine per day. Control with these patients meaning cysts are gone, periods every 28 days and type 2 diabetes mellitus under control.”
Hopefully someone with experience with adrenal insufficiency will address your issues. I would recommend treating that first and also getting up to speed on your cleanses. We have had people here who have had problems supplementing I, here's an example:

also, type "adrenal fatigue" into the search box in this forum...
EDIT~ I missed linking this good thread on iodine & the adrenals, right down the page...

end EDIT
Other folks who have attempted to use I in an "unclean" system have reported other problems, from kidney pain to bowel issues. Iodine mobilizes fluoride, bromine and toxic heavy metals and really stresses the organs of elimination.
There are a few different viewpoints on supplementing small doses. Low doses potentially can merely be excreted as most of us have bromide, chlorine, fluoride sitting on the receptors where iodine should be...it takes high doses to displace these undesirable halogens therefore enabling the body to actually UTILIZE the iodine.
I would strongly suggest doing your cleanses and addressing adrenal fatigue first. I understand your eagerness to begin, but supplementing I CAN lead to problems, NOT because of the iodine, but because of what the iodine can displace...
