I'm terrified, too - we have no idea of the long-term effects of GMO's and your point that it took aeons for organisms to adapt and evolve naturally is more than compelling!

Human beings have made themselves into gods and are making life-and-death choices and decisions based upon funding and earnings. On National Public Radio's (NPR.org) "Science Friday," the discussion was funding, research, development, and patenting rights. My gosh, it's unbelievable the amount of money that is circulating out there within the bio-tech and phamacology industries!!!! If we stopped Federal funding of these industries, we could eliminate the National deficit within a year.
