I read about this before, my concern is that genetically modified (GM) organisms have not had the chance to adapt to the environment like naturally occuring organisms. This puts them at a disadvantage evolutionally speaking. Organisms that have been exposed to the natural pressures of the environment learn to adapt and adjust and will in turn react in a symbiotic fashion with its co-inhabitants. We do not yet know how these Genetically-Modified plants will respond to the environment? Judging by what new evidence has come out on the correlation between Morgellons and plant bacterium that has jumped to humans, which by biological accounts should not happen in nature, I think it may be proof of how dangerous Genetically-Modified will be to the balance of life on this planet.
I for one am dreadfully frightened of what is to come of this!
