Re: inguinal hernia repair- 1 week later

Plan on spending most of the time in bed the first day. The pain is absolutely manageable with the pain meds, but getting in and out of bed is tricky and painful by yourself. Take it slow, and figure out the easiest way for you. And figure it out before you have to go to the bathroom, so your not hurting yourself when urgency hits.

Halloween then Thanksgiving then X-mas, there is no good time to have it done this time of year, Halloween would be my choice if I had to give one of those up.

I've got a cal into my Dr. for the constipation. My surgery was Monday morning, and it's now Friday and I still haven't gone. Hopefully he'll have some kind of quick fix.

One more piece of advice, especially since you live by yourself.. Look around you house and property, it there is something heavy that needs moving or strenuous that needs to be done (mow the lawn, etc...) over the next few weeks, do it now so you don't have to worry about it later. Also, get your phone near your bed, if it starts ringing from the other room, you'll never make it in time.

Good Luck with the surgery and keep us posted.
