Re: Desperate

Hi there. I know exactly what you are going through as my 16 year old daughter is going through the same exact thing. I keep trying to talk to her about making good healthy choices and that she needs to exercise but she absolutely refuses to listen to me. I make healthy meals at home and do not keep any bad stuff in the house. No soda, she drinks water only, and alot of it. She has had a battery of tests and there is nothing wrong with her thyroid, etc. She just seems to keep gaining and is miserable. I even bought a treadmill a few months ago so that if she wanted to exercise she could do it at home as she will not go to the gym as she is self conscious and doesnt want anyone to see her. She is a social person and is involved in her school choir but will not exercise, she sits on the couch most of the night. Its hard because she has a car and a job so I cannot regulate everything she eats except what she has at home. She sees me working out 6 days a week and I eat very healthy. I told her that I wanted her to start getting on the treadmill for at least 30 minutes every day and that she can watch tv at the same time but she still won't do it. I'm at my wits end because I want to help her so bad.
