Re: The Moronic Mentality of the Masses...

Yes I have known too many who really do care and are dedicated to doing good work. I've known nurses and doctors who donate their time to work in clinics and who work for low wages in order to help others - there are good and there are bad and a lot that are simply mediocre. An emergency room nurse just saved my husbans life a couple of years ago - she was so competent and he had gotten to that state by listening to what the several doctors he went to were toelling him to do. People who enter the medical profession right out of school often do not have any real knowledge at the beginning and then they are indoctrinated by medical dogma and wind up stuck in it.

Similar things are said about lawyers, but I my own daughter is a lawyer and she got into it because she started out as a human rights worker in the Bosnian war. She is now a legal aid lawyer and hardly makes enough money to get by between her comparitively low wages and all her student loans to pay off. But she does it because she wants to help people who have no other way to get a fair shake.

As far as dentists? I have met one dentist who treated me for free when I was a very young girl and without funds. He made a little replacement tooth for me for a front tooth that I had lost. Just out of kindness. I think it was sincerely his desire to be of service. But otherwise they all seem to be so focused on the dough. I can't stand most of them.
