Re: FYI: Ron Paul's party affiliation
I'm well aware of who Ron Paul is. I've read about him, articles by him, seen videos of him, listened to him, etc. When I've read posts on this forum, it seems that people don't understand that he has some shot of staying in the presidential race if he managed to get the Republican nomination - giving him a better position than running as an Independent, Libertarian, etc.
Then again, I'm also well aware of how crap-tastic our Republican and Democratic parties today. Also, remember when Ross Perot was running? His daughter was threatened? He dropped out of the race? He came back? Hmm, tell me nobody's out to get anybody in the presidential campaign. I sure hope Ron Paul can survive whatever is thrown at him, because it'll get nastier yet.
I fully support Ron Paul. He's the only one whose platform and issues resonate with me, a common U.S. citizen. I believe in the Constitution. I believe in being allowed to do what I want, so long as it doesn't harm others. I believe in personal responsibility. I believe in putting the power of evaluating behavior at the local level, not hiding behind government to do the dirty work. You say poor people are mistreated and deserve help? Then by all means, donate your time and money to help someone one-on-one, or support your local charity, or start a better charity. Or start a business to employ your fellow humans and share the wealth.
