O/T Plastic Water Bottles

So we have been getting reverse-osmosis distilled & ozonated water delivered by the 5 gallon jug for a number of years. (We add trace minerals, but I've recently been buying "alkaline water" at the health food store w/ a PH of 10.0, and I think I like it, though that's a separate story).

My question is - anyone know if those 1-gallon, softer plastic jugs leech anything into the water? My biggest gripe is the only place to put that 5 gallon bottle with the crock and stand is the dining room, a real eyesore next to my nice furniture. I'm thinking about having it delivered in 5 gallon jugs instead so I can store it in the basement. We've already done damage to our freshly sanded, gorgeous, quartersawn red oak floors with a bottle leak gone unnoticed. Dang!
