This is my understanding.

Cholesterol medications shut the liver down in certain ways.

This shows as a reduction in cholesterol.

Which falsely indicates a lower heart health risk.

Unfortunately it also causes CoQ10 to be either used up or prevented from being made.

Which is important for heart function and protection.

Therefore it also increases heart risk.

If the meds are quite cold turkey or rapidly the liver starts functioning again.

But causes a cholesterol spike.

It appears the combination of spike and reduction of protection properties by CoQ10 can cause a stroke.

(As an aside, my Mother used CoQ10 for 2 decades to prevent a rapid heart rate problem)

This is why you hear people (Even Doctors) advising those on these stupid meds to take CoQ10 supplements.
