Re: One More PH/ pickling lime question

So in the V forum it was suggested (and sort of makes sense to me, though I have absolutely no scientific background) that the body's PH is more of a barometer of health vs. something to be manipulated in order to attain health. The suggestion was to alkalize through removing the sources causing acidity - foods, stress, etc.

I agree with that.  It seems to me that acidic blood is not the primary cause of disease.  It is no more than a secondary cause of disease.

.....but there are at least a few people who feel they have benefited greatly from that pickling lime drink (and yet some who felt worse off).

This makes sense to me after listening to a nutrtional biochemist day after day on the radio.  There are nutrients that some people need while others do not.  A nutritional biochemist will tell you what you need and don't need after a series of tests have been conducted.  There are food sensitivites and biochemical reactions between nutrients and toxins that can make people feel worse.  Other than that I don't know why the Moreless drink makes people feel worse.   Maybe the negative reactions are due to the quality of the substances used in the drink.  I have never tried it.

I have a friend with cancer who has a pretty good PH now that she's back on a mostly raw diet. But she still has the cancer, so I guess that might say something about PH....

That wouldn't surprise me if it was true.  Maybe if someone who never had acidic blood wouldn't develop cancer because their health would be 100% perfect.  I wouldn't think this would be realistically achievable anyway.  When someone develops cancer I suspect they must do more than get their blood alkaline in most cases.  I think it is best to address the primary issues that cause cancer whatever they may be.
