Given the time consuming/not always pleasant process of OPing, it's amazing nobody you know personally has stopped once they started. Though with the results I'm getting, I don't believe I will either.
Actually I didn't mention the biggest benefit of all to me yet (maybe because I wanted to take more time to verify before saying anything). But the one thing I haven't been able to get off meds yet with is high blood pressure.
I had a small stroke a couple of years ago and found out afterwards that my blood pressure was through the roof 210/115 (not sure if it was the cause or effect). Since then I went cold turkey on a lifelong 3 pack a day smoking habit, went vegitarian, quit alcohol, did colon cleanses, goji juice fasting, oral chelation programs, - you get the picture.
It was a 180 degree turnaround and has done wonders for my health. I've dropped all my other meds and cut back on but can't quit my BP medication. My BP spikes when I'm not on it after a day or two, and obviously my first priority is to do whatever is in my power to prevent another stroke of any kind.
I just happened to take my BP before I did my first oil pull and it was on the high side 150/95. I retook it a half hour later with the same result. I was going to take my meds, but I just happened to do the oil pull instead. Right after the OP (my first) my BP immediately dropped to a much safer 130/85. I've confirmed this immediate drop in blood pressure however after additional OPs and now have gone 2 days without meds with my BP still in the safe range.
It's still to early to say that I'll be able to reach my goal of no prescription drugs now or ever, but it looks promising and I'll be watching this carefully. Since I know flax seed oil is supposed to help with BP, I wonder if I'll get the same results with other oils? I hope so since I'm sure coconut oil would be better tasting. Anyway, thanks for the encouragement!
