Hi Dabbler!
I had a horrible skin yeast infection in that area that began in November 2006, and lasted until I could finally get rid of it in April 2007. It's true that it's hard to get rid of, but it's doable. I have to say upfront, though, that my infection was so serious and the strain of yeast that I had was so aggressive that I had to go on Difulcan and Nystatin at first to help bring it under control. Nystatin is supposed to be safe for pregnancies, but I wouldn't use Difulcan at all during a pregnancy. And I certainly understand your desire not to use any chemical remedies as long as natural remedies will work.
For natural remedies, I alternated applying oil of oregano, grapefruit seed extract, and tea tree oil in treating the break-outs. But sometimes the break-outs would be so bad or spread so fast that I would have to use Clotrimizole on them, although I tried to go natural as much as possible. I did not use the gentian violet, however, even though I know it is highly recommended, mainly because of dealing with the stains it causes. But if it works, it works! That's what's important!
I hope everything is going well for you this week!
