I have only had this happen a few times and I am twice your age. It has always been the result of low electrolytes. Once my potassium was so low I wound up in the hospital in the early stages of heart failure and got IVs of D5W, saline solution and potassium.
Now if I feel my heart beat feel "funny", get dizzy, weak or have black out spells I make an electrolyte drink. I also use this after
Liver Flushing and any case of stomach flu or diarrhea to make sure I am well hydrated and have available minerals. It has always helped. If you think this might be part of your problem, try this recipe:
3/4 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
1/4-1/2 teaspoon
Sea Salt (natural with trace minerals)
1/4-1/2 cup natural sweetener-evaporated cane juice, Maple syrup, sorghum, honey, even
Sugar in an emergency-the
Sugar helps your body absorb the minerals
add enough water to make 1/2 gallon of drink. Drink a glass every 1/2 to one hour until you feel better.
Also, eating fresh fruit will help you balance your electrolyte minerals.
Once again, I don't know if this is the cause of your problem, but using this drink has probably kept me out of the hospital more than once. It is good for anyone who loses a lot of fluid due to illness, cleansing, exercise or sweating. Its healthier than sports drinks (although they will work in a pinch) and tastes pretty good too.
