I think it would be great, if you would consider to rollback everyone,
at the beginning of every month.
that stops potentials of long term cheat pumps,
gives every blogger a better chance to be read, esp new bloggers as well,
that otherwise might never make it even to top 100 group.
BEST: a even better idea: is to completely do away with number system,
and viewer hits, and just let the blogs scroll randomly changing like the image
pages do currently.
then EVERYONE gets an equal playing field and is read (or not) by content.
I can think of countless times I have opened a blog, not liked the material
presented, but I still helped that person get viewer hits..
This in unavoidable currently , because you obviously have to read some to get a feel
for the blog.
I also have seen it in reverse,
a new blogger is getting good info , great reading , keeping current messages,
yet not many really know they are there.
Please sincerely consider either of these options as an ongoing thing.

But, if that's too hard to implement, yes the next best thing would be to have them reset at regular intervals. Once a month seems OK to me (but really I would still prefer to be able to jump between "daily, weekly, monthly, all"!)
I'm not too keen on a randomized list, at least not as the "primary" mode. It's nice to be able to see what people are gravitating towards, what they're interested in, what they think is worth spending time to read, etc.
In my suggestion above, a random feature could be added in for those that want to use it, though. Maybe have it take the top 100 based on "total views", and randomize them. But I dunno, it's not too hard to scroll through the top 100 anyway. Anything beyond that might be a little more difficult to randomize .... there are probably thousands of blogs and I would think generating random lists out of "all blogs possible" for so many people, would consume resources pretty fast.

Folks that enjoy reading certain people will still continue to do so,
but those that want to read something new will spend more time browsing
through the other blogs more.
I think It would encourage new bloggers also , to know their stuff is actually
getting a chance to be read by more people, and further, to know that they are continuing to be read by actual viewer interest.

This is a reply to # 90,069I am new to blogging and my blog is more of a personal journal I am sharing than a place for education and information. While I do not expect it to be one of the most popular blogs, I have enjoyed the comments offering helpful suggestions and, most of all, encouragement. I realize that people who tend to cut and paste articles might not want to deal with comments, I welcome them. For those of us sharing a very personal experience or journey a brief comment of encouragement means more than numbers.
As I explored the blog area for the first time I was shocked at how many blogs there were, I had no idea. So many of them seemed to be abandoned though. Is there a time limit on the life of an inactive blog?- no clue/ but rollbacks will set inac... Wrenn 18 y 2,280

This is a reply to # 90,070well just cause a post may appear to be abandoned, does not mean the blogger has given it up.
Like some of my blogs, have not had new messages in awhile,
but that is what I intended when I made them .
I found that I was endlessly repeating some stuff on forums,
so I saw mine more as *stockpiles* (resources)
that I could point to and say go here and read x message.

also some people may be busy talking in forums more ,
and thus not blogging as much ..
but at any rate, rollbacks, I think , would keep blogging in a proper
perspective.. it is about our opinions, our feelings, our views,
and we each have different reasons for our blogs.
At any rate, folks would feel less *rabid* lol
about rushing to get the top spot... if they knew it would all be wiped clean
again every month...
even as Quinthius said maybe once a week !lol !

This is a reply to # 90,0641. research blogs - blogs where authors find pertinent and interesting info to share and then paste the articles together. these are very valuable if you find one where soneone has done the research on a subject you are interested in.
2. original content blog - blogs where the majority of the content is generated by the blogger him or herslef.
also research blogs should be categorized alphabetically by subject matter ie - apple cider vinegar, ozone therapy, juice fasting etc.
there are some top notch research blogs that no one ever visits because they don't know they exist. i recently found one on ac vinegar by accident that had all kinds of great info, but since its inactive no one goes there. people have done some really great work and its just not being utilized. some of these research blogs people should really know about, and right now there is no way possible that they can. they are gems laying around in a closet getting dusty.

(which would be hard enough to even do 2 divisions,
since many folks intermingle personal with health, with spiritual etc,)
where else will it lead?
Will we then have *christain only blogs?
political only? fasting only ? the list goes on...
It is bad enough that we have far too many (in my opinion)
micro breakdowns of regular forums,
I cringe to think that the next area
of mini subdivisions would be blogs.

This is a reply to # 90,078its just that i would like to see a way that certain blogs are more easily accessible, i don't really care exactly how that is done. these wonderful research blogs are buried deep in the bowels of curezone with no way for folks who need this info to find them.
how about this - keep the system as is but introduce a blog directory. this directory could be used by anyone to find a blog on any topic. wondering if a research blog on ulcerative colitis exists? right now no way to find out. but if we had a directory you could just enter "ulcerative colitis" and boom there's your blog. this is not the same as a curzone search which brings up far too many hits scattered all over curezone. it would be a way to enable those to access info that is now collecting dust.- Makes sense! This is a reply to # 90,078I don't think categorizing the blogs would be such a bad idea... it certainly would organize them better than they are which would make access to all blogs much easier anyway...
My problem with splitting the blogs between research and personal is that many, such as my own, are a mixture of the two... half is research with articles written by others and the other half is written by me. That would make categorizing blogs between research and personal rather difficult.
But I don't have problems with categorizing blogs according to topic.
